RS MUSEUM OUTREACH EXHIBITION AT DALMENY STREET 18 – 23 MAY 2026
The RS website Events page, Gretna Memorial Service | The Royal Scots already notifies of the annual Service of Remembrance at Rosebank on the morning of Saturday 23 May 2026.
The same page also carries the flyer that warns of the RS Museum Outreach exhibition in the Out Of The Blue Drill Hall, formerly the 7th (Leith) Battalion Drill Hall in Dalmeny Street 18 – 23 May. This year’s exhibition will be on modest scale compared with the much more comprehensive one last year. Its objectives are to:
– Maintain the Enduring Legacy of RS in general and 7 RS in particular in the local community.
– Encourage attendance at the Rosebank service.
Drop in 1000 – 1630. If attending at Rosebank on the Saturday, why not continue the movement by strolling along to Dalmeny Street to view the exhibition, catch up with other Old Royals, meet members of the local community – many with family connections to 7 RS and the Gretna Rail Disaster – and sample the fare of the excellent cafe.
If intending to have lunch in the cafe after the Rosebank service, please let me know at wjblythe@hotmail.com no later than Saturday 16 May, sooner if possible, so that the catering manager can order in sufficient supplies and deploy additional staff.
Thank you,
Jim Blythe
Just to inform the family Royal Scots that Jock Gordon is in Erskine in Gilmeton with dementia. Maggie his sister asked me to inform the Regimental family of this. Jock said he would love visits from the Regimental Family.
