   So sad to read this news whilst browsing the internet.

   I remember him and his family very fondly whilst posted to the British Embassy in Paris between 95 and 98. He always had great stories to tell and he and Araminta were fabulous company.

   My condolences to his family. Society has lost a well respected and humorous man.
