Mr Alan Burns
The funeral for Mr Alan Burns will be held at 1100 on Mon 30 Jun 2025 at the Main Chape, Mortonhall Crematorium, 30B Howden Hall Road, Edinburgh, EH16 6TX, and afterwards at the Masonic Hall, 5 High St, Bonnyrigg, EH19 2DB.
Very much looking forward to seeing as many old Royals as can make it to Armed Forces Day this Saturday, 28 June. It’s a great opportunity to remind Edinburgh about The Royal Scots. Don’t worry if you cannot find your glengarry, medals, blazer, trews or brogues, just come along and catch up. Even better bring an old Royal pal who we may not have seen for a while.
Yours Aye
George
Just incase anyone missed the last msg sent on any of The Royal Scots FB sites.

MEMORY TEST
Does anyone who served in 7/9 RS or 52 LOWLAND remember the colour scheme inside the Dalmeny Street Drill Hall before it was sold off? The Out Of The Blue team are keen to know more about their heritage.

I’m very sad to learn of Gordon Strange’s death. I served with him in 6 platoon in the early 70’s. A very fine soldier with an even cooler head.
