Veterans’ Parade at the Cenotaph
Sun 9 Nov 2025
The annual Veterans’ Parade at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday has been advertised on the Upcoming Events page on the website and a notice has been circulated by email.
The Royal Scots Association has been allocated 33 places. To date, 13 people have indicated their interest, so places are still available.
If you wish to join the parade, or have an interest in doing so, please notify Brian de la Haye (bgdelahaye@yahoo.co.uk ) as soon as possible and certainly no later than 19 Sep 2025.
Mrs Gill McGrath
It is with great sadness that we report the death on Thu 5 Jun 2025 of Mrs Gill McGrath, widow of Maj Bill McGrath. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. The funeral will be held at 1300 on Mon 23 Jun 2025 at Seafield Crematorium, 40 Seafield Road, Edinburgh, EH6 7LD, and afterwards from 1430 at the Maitlandfield House Hotel, 24 Sidegate, Haddington, EH41 4BZ, which all are welcome to join even if unable to attend the funeral.
MEMORY TEST
Does anyone who served in 7/9 RS or 52 LOWLAND remember the colour scheme inside the Dalmeny Street Drill Hall before it was sold off? The Out Of The Blue team are keen to know more about their heritage.

I’m very sad to learn of Gordon Strange’s death. I served with him in 6 platoon in the early 70’s. A very fine soldier with an even cooler head.
