About The Royal Scots
The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), once known as The Royal Regiment of Foot, was the oldest, and therefore most senior, infantry regiment of the line in the British Army, having been raised in 1633 during the reign of Charles I.
The Royal Scots today
Today, The Royal Scots Trust, Regimental Association, Benevolence Society and Museum represent and continue its proud heritage - promoting comradeship across The Royal Scots Regimental family, supporting individuals in times of greatest need and upholding the traditions and achievements of times past, in honour of those who have given their service and their lives.
We are very proud to have as our Patron our former Colonel-in-Chief, HRH The Princes Royal, Princess Anne, who is also the Royal Colonel of 1 SCOTS.
