    It is with great sadness that we report the death on 13 August 2025 of Mr Graeme Swan. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. The funeral will be held at 1330 on 25 September 2025 at Mortonhall Cemetery, 30B Howden Hall Road, Edinburgh, EH16 6TX.

More so, Armed Forces Day, which Royals attended around the rest of the country. It would be great if you could mention who was in the photos and where it was please. Hi all, Just a wee reminder that Derek Notman (Nolts) and I will be meeting up about 0930 for a slim athletic Scottish breakfast on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at Tiso (Outdoor sports shop), 50 Couper St, Glasgow G4 0DL, off junction 15 of the M8. There is free parking outside the store. Hopefully some auld handsome Royals may come along for a hearty breakfast and blether!

    Looking forward to seeing Rossco after 32 years.

  4. Mr Charlie Porteous

    The funeral service for Mr Charlie Porteous will be held at 1100 on Friday 19 September 2025 at Seafield Crematorium, 40 Seafield Rd, Edinburgh, EH6 7LD, and afterwards at the Royal British Legion in Prestonpans, 19 Rope Walk, Prestonpans, EH32 9BN.

    1. Very sad news. Charlie was my first Section Commander when I joined the Battalion. He said to me, “welcome young Thomson, now you are my new 84 man”. Rest in peace Charlie.

  7. Lt Col Jock Wilson Smith OBE

    It is with great sadness that we report the death on 3 Sep 2025 of Lt Col Jock Wilson Smith OBE, 2RS and 1RS. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. There will be a private family cremation next week and a memorial service will be held later, details of which will be announced in due course.

    1. Sad news indeed the death of this well known Royal Scot Officer I have personally
      seen him on many occasions over the years.
