I am very sorry indeed to hear the sad news of the passing, in recent days, of Rab Simpson, Gerry McMurtrie and Stewart Snedden. Three great men.

It is with profound and heavy heart that I write to inform the Regimental Family that my father – Robert (Rab) Simpson passed away peacefully late last night (16 May 19).
He is at peace now.

The funeral for Gerry McMurtrie will be held at 1pm on Tuesday 21st of May at Greenock crematorium, then on to the Tontine hotel in Greenock.
I wonder if it’s possible to ask any of the ex pipe band members If they have a copy of the LP my dad played on back in the day. We’d love to track down a copy to either buy, or take a copy from if you could help in any way?

This years Armed Forces Day will take place in St. Andrews Square, in Edinburgh City Centre on Saturday 22nd June 2019. The parade will set off from Charlotte Square at 10:20am, routing along George Street where the formal salute will take place at the Castle Street South intersection, with the parade then finishing in St. Andrew’s Square at approximately 10:45am. There will be plenty of festivities arranged in St. Andrews Square from that point onwards running till 3:00pm.
Members of the public are invited to join the Lord Provost, Civic leaders and representatives of the Armed Forces and Veterans Association’s in showing your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

Well done to all you ROYAL SCOTS VETERANS who turned up and on parade in Glasgow George square on Saturday for the JUSTICE FOR NORTHERN IRELAND VETERANS MARCH. What a fantastic turn out by all regiments. The fight goes on . It’s an absolute disgrace we have to do this but needs must. Keep an eye out for the next one. Hopefully our government will get the message and there’ll be no need for anymore marches and witch hunts against our fellow veteran. It was great seeing some well Kent faces there on Saturday. UTR.
