  1. Scottish Soldiers- World War 2 Memories.

Our 40-minute film “Scottish Soldiers – World War 2 Memories” captures the experiences of four of our Royal Scots veterans; the oldest is 101 and fought at Le Paradis, two recount their experiences in Italy and Burma and the youngest, 93, fought in Europe.

Comments has been made that: “through their honesty, humanity, and humour these old Royals offer younger generations an insight into the experience of war that is vivid, sharp and unique” and “a beautifully sensitive film with no glorification of war”..

  5. Sadly, we report the death of Thomas (Tweet) Jackson Ewart. He served from 1952 – 1954 with B Coy 1 RS. Although he was conscripted into the KOSB and seconded to the Royal Scots, he was most firmly, until he passed away on the 2nd Sep 2019, a proud Royal Scot.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Baptist Church, Dumfries, on Wednesday 18th September at 10.00am. Cremation thereafter at Roucan Loch Crematorium, Collin, Dumfries & Galloway, DG1 4JF . All friends are respectfully invited to attend. 8. 21142 Private John Ferguson 13th Bn The Royal Scots. Died 11 May 1916.

    Good afternoon,

My name is John Flynn and I am chairman of the Tayport branch of the RBLS.

Recently we received information from Fife council that a name was missing from our War Memorial, the details being of the soldier above.

A plaque has been made for John and it will be fixed onto our Memorial this month.

We are planning to have a dedication ceremony for John on the 25th September 2019 at 11.00 at the Tayport War Memorial, and we would like to invite any members of the Royal Scots association to attend.

We have a piper organised to play a lament and hopefully will have a bugler available as well.

Perhaps if one of your members could attend he would be so kind as to deliver the Royal Scots Collect.
