The Colonel In Chief

Portrait commissioned by the Regiment of the Colonel-in-Chief, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal painted by June Mendoza, RP ROI In 1983 the Regiment celebrated its 350th Anniversary. The highlight of a large number of commemorative events was a Review of the Regiment by Her Majesty The Queen in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. It was at this review that Her Majesty announced the appointment of her daughter, HRH The Princess Anne, to be Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Scots.

With the demise of The Regiment and the formation of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal ceased to be our Colonel-in-Chief. However she continues her link with The Regiment by being the Patron of The Royal Scots Regimental Association.
