i have to agree with all the comments on the Edinburgh Branch Burns night, this was a good night to be had by all. The lay out as we went in was fantastic. The food was of excellent quality, the service was also of high quality. Much appreciation has to be given to speakers etc because it is not always easy to deliver on the night and especially if this is the first time they have been asked to perform. However this is what makes Burns Night and once again it was delivered with great professionalism by all those who were involved in ensuring that everyone who attended had a good time. To those who did not attend or could not attend, because this I believe was a sell out, then next year make sure you get in early with your request for a ticket and you will be guaranteed an excellent night. It is also encouraging to hear that our friends up North also were able to celebrate Burns night and also had an excellent time.Congratulations to all those up North who worked hard to ensure that everyone had a good night. I am sure this was appreciated by all who attended. Maybe next year we might be able to introduce the Atholl Brose by all contributing an extra pound towards its making, only a suggestion. Thanks to everyone who worked hard it was most appreciated. Jake

As Chairman of the East of Scotland Branch I would like to thank all at Edinburgh Branch for a first class Burns Night on Saturday 28th Jan. The Evening was well attended and entertaining, a big thank must go to the Organisers Jimmy Laws and Jimmy Ovens, well done, and also to Ellen and all her staff at the club for serving up excellent four course meal. The evening would not been the success it was without the entertainers Jake Johnstone, Jimmy McEwan, and Danny MacIntosh, and a big thanks to all the lads and lassie who all did there eloquent toast on the evening. One down side of the evening, not one former officer was in attendance at this Association Function.
