  3. Hi,

I am John Alexander Sutherland III. My Great-great grandfather left Scotland and came to Canada around 1840-1850. Eventually the family emigrated to the United States. I am planning my first trip to Scotland to connect with the home of my ancestors. I would like to connect with fellow soldiers that are also Scottish.

I am retired from the US Army after 28 years and I would like to connect with Scottish military members retired or not since we may have some shared experiences due to military service. My Grandfather John A. Sutherland Sr retired from the US Army as well and included service in WWII and my Father John A. Sutherland Jr served as a US Naval officer during the Korean War/Conflict in the 1950s.

If you can suggest ways to make connections with Scottish military members thru online forums or other ways I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your time and help,

LTC, John A. Sutherland III, US Army Retired
