Today we remember those who lost their lives in the Quintinshill rail disaster which occurred on 22nd May 1915. A troop training carrying soldiers from The Royal Scots, bound for Gallipoli, collided with a passenger train. Moments later an express train hit. Over 200 lives were lost in the tragedy which remains the worst rail disaster in British history.
