Gretna Disaster Commemoration – Rosebank Cemetery

Dear All,

The Service to commemorate and Remember the men of 7th Bn The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) who were killed in the train crash at Quintinshill will be held in Rosebank Cemetery, Pilrig Street, Leith on Saturday 25th May 2019, timings as follows:

10:30 gather at the gates of the Cemetery

10:45 form up in the driveway inside the Gates as directed by RS Association Parade Marshall

  • RS Association Pipe Band
  • Association Standards
  • RS Association Group Led by Brigadier GE Lowder MBE
  • Uniformed Groups: 6 SCOTS, Cadet Forces
  • Others

10:50 step off to Memorial site

11:00 Service led by Rev Iain May BSc, MBA, BD.  The Regimental Wreath will be laid by Brig Lowder, other wreaths may be laid following this.

11:20 APPROX Marching Party forms up on the road in the same formation.  Step off to Cemetery Gates where the parade will be dismissed.

  1. This is a very sad occasion and I hope that you have a sunny day to commemorate the lives lost. Is there any list of names of those lost in the disaster?
